Tech Support and Online Community Manager

Location: Irvine, CA

January 2020

We are seeking an enthusiastic, very organized individual to work with our veteran technical services team in managing how they onboard and support our rapidly growing online community of thousands of HVAC service technicians. Applicants will be responsible for managing how our tech team answers live tech support calls, how they successfully onboard 30-60 new members every day to the community and creating a strong sense of community and true support among the members. Applicants must have an attention to detail, thrive with multi-tasking and like working in a fast-paced start-up environment. Most importantly, applicants have a true desire and drive to create a best-in-class, exceptional support team and environment.

Requirements

  • Player coach role, comfortable managing and executing
  • Proven work experience at both launching and managing an online support forum/community
  • Experience managing support oriented “call centers” and increasing employee performance
  • High proficiency at making calls and gaining key information + insights
  • High overall computer skills and ability to commit to utilizing company CRM (Nutshell) and Zendesk for call center operations
  • Results driven and do what it takes attitude
  • Operate collaboratively in a rapidly evolving and growing environment
  • Strong work ethic and high integrity

Responsibilities

  • Manage (and make) daily calls to onboard HVAC technicians into our growing community in order to communicate specific benefits regarding our solution and gain key information.
  • Manage 4+ employees who make these calls by setting and holding employees to clear goals and expectations
  • Coach and motivate employees regarding calling processes and best practices
  • Assisting other management team members in identifying trends and establishing call center goals
  • Help create and moderate an online forum for thousands of HVAC technicians and growing by working with in development team
  • Respond to comments and user queries
  • Create weekly reports for management on onboarding, support calls & forum activity
  • Help facilitate a strong sense of community amongst those in our online community, on the forum

HVAC Senior Lead Technician

Location: Strategically Located to Major US Airport for Travel

June 2019

The ideal Senior Technician I candidate should have 10+ years as a service or installation technician in the commercial HVAC-R world (industrial work is a plus). The Bluon Senior Technician will be leading a team of Bluon Technical Experts conducting on-site product installations with local contractors, hands-on training on complex systems, building retrofit packages such as control panels, providing installation and servicing assistance on Bluon’s in-house test chambers, as well as many other day-to-day activities to ultimately deliver the best service and support to HVAC contractors and End-users regarding the installation of Bluon TdX 20 [R-458A] into existing HVAC units.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC-R manual labor while leading Bluon in-field installations
  • Perform HVAC-R manual labor while leading in-field training opportunities with other Bluon Technical experts and contractors
  • Work with the Bluon technical services team in building retrofit packages for use in the field, working on Bluon’s in-house test chamber, and conducting performance/experimental tests
  • Lead group trainings for contractors and technicians on how to best use Bluon refrigerants and
    Bluon’s support ecosystem
  • Provide real time tech support for Bluon accredited technicians in the field
  • Establish & maintain relationships with Bluon team members including Sales, Executives, and Tech Leads as well as building engineers, local HVAC contractors and others as needed
  • Support Sales: Communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales staff
  • Work directly with the Bluon sales team in gaining new contractor clients
  • Interact with clients as needed regarding project status or technical information
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
  • Adhere to Bluon safety policies and OSHA guidelines, wear required protective equipment and complete jobsite hazard assessments

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Service and Repair in Commercial HVAC-R
  • Problem solving mentality with an innovative approach to system challenges
  • Deep knowledge of various types + configurations of Large Commercial RTU’s and split systems
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Computer literacy and ability to readily work with Bluon’s CRM software
  • Ability to travel to field installations and training throughout the USA
